Portalais has arranged for a supply of reclaimed, terra cota roof tiles from Bordeaux.
These tiles are old and have history as you can plainly see in real life.
Moss and lichen have aged them and the character is outstanding & not reproducible in any new tile production.
Their color and shape is recognizable as antique.
They have similar roof life as most high quality new roof tile.
Sometimes they are mixed with darker colored new tile for a blend as seen here or they are used in only the “cap” location saving some expense.
Typically there are approximately 260 tile per “square” in both cap and pan locations.
500 to 600 tiles are loaded per pallet and we typically load 20 pallets per 40’ container. Keep in mind that these tiles are “antique", and supplies limited. See examples of our Antique Roofing Tiles.
